Oh my gosh. Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial. I have a project for school with 3 pages on the Mandelbrot and Julia sets, and I was at the point of tears before I found your website. It has made it so easy to understand. If only finding something on the Julia set was as easy.

Since I was 12 years old or so, I have been meditating on what is now described as Mandelbrot's Set (fractals). WOW! I never knew how to explain in words in a way that people could understand what this theory of infinity was that I tried to apply as math in my mind with every object I visualized. This is amazing! I was labeled as gifted in my small school, therefore, I was unable to relate to anyone my concepts. I am encouraged to further explore my theories and feel so validated after learning of Mandelbrot's history. Thank you for this!

This amazing. You should up date your tutorial to include the biological applications of Madelbrot, as seen on a recent PBS/Nova show.

Very nice video.
The anims are a tad slow, but non-pixilated awesomeness.

I can't do anything now without noticing fractal patterns in nature. Benoit Mandelbrot a true pioneer.
