The Amazing Mandelbrot Set is the work of Bill Boll, a filmmaker and math aficionado in St. Louis. Boll has been obsessed with the Mandelbrot Set ever since the 1987 release of James Gleick's Chaos: Making a New Science. He has spent untold hours exploring the set over the past 18 years, maintaining at least one fractal-generating program on every PC he has owned since then. In 1999, Boll joined the digital video revolution, and has subsequently produced and directed two feature films, one short and several music videos. |
